Introducing Dr. Scott Aniol

Today marks another answer to many prayers through the years as we welcome Dr. Scott Aniol onto the G3 Ministries team. Just as it was with Virgil Walker, when we sat down to finalize the details, my wife and I explained that we have been praying for them for a very long time, but we simply didn’t know their names.

Dr. Aniol holds a bachelor’s degree in church music (Bob Jones University), a masters degree in Theological Studies (SWBTS), a masters degree in Aesthetics (NIU), and a PhD in Worship Ministry (SWBTS). Dr. Aniol is married to Becky Aniol and they have four children (Caleb, Kate, Christopher, and Caroline).

Dr. Scott Aniol, PhD, is an author, speaker, and teacher of culture, worship, aesthetics, and church ministry philosophy. He is director of doctoral worship studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He founded Religious Affections Ministries, lectures around the country in churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries, and he has authored several books and dozens of articles. Scott is the Editor of Artistic Theologian, a scholarly journal of worship and church ministry, and serves as chair of the Biblical Worship Section of the Evangelical Theological Society.

As the Lord grew G3 Ministries from an annual theology conference on the westside of Atlanta to one of the largest Reformed conferences in the world—it became clear that the Lord has big plans for G3. As I attempted to steward the work for the glory of God, I also knew that I would need much help along this journey. We began praying and the pathway became very clear. In January of 2020, we announced that G3 Conference had transitioned to G3 Ministries complete with a new structure for our ministry.  One of our new objectives would be centered on resource production for the local church.

Dr. Aniol has served as a professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for the past ten years. He is well respected among his colleagues and in the broader evangelical community. Today, he joins the staff of G3 Ministries as our Executive Vice President and Editor-in-chief. Dr. Aniol’s area of oversight will include vision casting, planning, and the execution of resource development and media production for G3 Ministries. As an executive team member, he will work alongside our leaders to help lead G3 in a way that educates, encourages, and equips the local church while earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3).

In recent days, Dr. Aniol has already been hard at work on a new resource for the local church that will be unveiled at this upcoming 2021 G3 National Conference in just a few weeks. We look forward to welcoming the Aniol family to our community in the coming weeks. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Scott Aniol onto the G3 team and please pray for a smooth transition.

You will not want to miss Dr. Scott Aniol’s session at the upcoming 2021 G3 National Conference as he will be addressing “Christ-Centered Worship” from Ephesians 2:11–22.
