Welcome to G3 Weekly—a summary of this week’s top news stories on Christianity and the public square.

This week, Planned Parenthood announced that it would spend record sums in the upcoming midterm elections. The mainstream media was finally forced to acknowledge that monkeypox spreads through homosexual activity. Meanwhile, a Christian school in Florida reminded parents that sinful sexual lifestyles are not permitted among students.

Planned Parenthood to Spend $50 Million on Midterm Elections

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?” (Isaiah 49:15).

Planned Parenthood is earmarking $50 million to fund pro-abortion candidates in the upcoming midterm elections.

Two months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade—a decision alleging that abortion is protected under the Constitution—states began considering policies that would either loosen or tighten regulations on the murder of preborn babies. Planned Parenthood is therefore trying to tip election outcomes in swing states like Georgia, Nevada, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Arizona, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

“This is an election about power and control,” Planned Parenthood Votes Executive Director Jenny Lawson said in a statement. “Should these out-of-touch politicians gain or stay in power, they will continue doing everything they can to ban all abortion, throw health care providers and pregnant people in jail, and endanger the health and lives of pregnant people across the country.”

Planned Parenthood said that an “influx of support” to the group that occurred after the Supreme Court’s decision will be leveraged to reach over 6 million voters across the nation.

Mainstream Media Forced to Acknowledge How Monkeypox Actually Spreads

“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” (Leviticus 18:22).

After weeks of suppressing public health data, several progressive media outlets admitted that the monkeypox virus is primarily spread through homosexual activity.

Driven by a fear of “stigmatizing” homosexuality, some on the left—including the United Nations—have been hesitant to name the populations most at risk for contracting monkeypox. This week, however, many changed their tunes.

“Since the outset of the global monkeypox outbreak in May, public health and infectious disease experts have told the public that the virus is largely transmitting through skin-to-skin contact, in particular during sex between men,” NBC News reported. “Now, however, an expanding cadre of experts has come to believe that sex between men itself—both anal as well as oral intercourse—is likely the main driver of global monkeypox transmission. The skin contact that comes with sex, these experts say, is probably much less of a risk factor.”

“Not wanting to reproduce the kind of anti-gay stigma seen during the early AIDS crisis, some argue that articulating which group is at highest risk for monkeypox infection might be dangerous,” CNN said. “Experts say that we shouldn’t tiptoe around the issue. Instead, we should face it directly, and keep an eye toward expanding access to care.”

Many professing conservatives have likewise been hesitant—or outright opposed—to identifying the primary causes of monkeypox spread. During a recent panel on Fox News, multiple guests slammed Ned Ryun, a senior fellow at American Greatness, for suggesting that one could avoid the virus by steering clear of “gay orgies.”

Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, cough, sore throat, and nasal congestion, as well as painful rashes and blisters, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Christian School Refuses to Acknowledge Students apart from Biological Sex

“Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created” (Genesis 5:2).

Grace Christian School in Valrico, Florida, reminded parents that students attempting to change their genders would be “asked to leave the school immediately.”

In an email obtained by NBC News, the school affirmed that all students would be named in accordance to the “gender on their birth certificates,” noting that humans are created immutably as males or females (Genesis 1:26-28).

“Therefore, one’s biological sex must be affirmed and no attempts should be made to physically change, alter, or disagree with one’s biological gender—including, but not limited to, elective sex reassignment, transvestite, transgender, or non-binary gender fluid acts of conduct,” the email said. “Students in school will be referred to by the gender on their birth certificate and be referenced in name in the same fashion.”

The policy clarification occurs as transgender identity spreads among younger generations via social contagion, as Michael Brown explained earlier this year in The Daily Wire. One in five members of Generation Z—those born between 1997 and 2003—now identify as “LGBT,” according to Gallup.

The school also clarified that engagement in homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, transgender identity, fornication, or pornography would serve as grounds for dismissal.
