What is preaching? Logic on fire! Preaching is theology coming through a man who is on fire. A true understanding and experience of the Truth must lead to this. I say again that a man who can speak about these things dispassionately has no right whatsoever to be in a pulpit; and should never be allowed to enter one.
What is the skill level required for this workshop?
Whether you are a seasoned pastor looking to grow as an expositor or one who is just beginning on the journey of learning to preach or teach God’s Word, you will greatly benefit from these workshops. Paul told Timothy about his labor in God’s Word, “Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress” (1 Tim 4:15). Therefore, the ultimate desire for each participant is that they make progress as a biblical expositor.
What must I do to prepare?
Each participant will be assigned two passages prior to the workshop. You will use the G3 exegetical worksheet to prepare so that you may present your work to your small group and discuss it together to help one another make progress. There will usually be two individuals presenting in each passage. In order to better prepare, we will provide a video that gives instructions for completing the worksheet.
What is the cost?
The cost for the workshop at Geneva Lakes Church in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on April 20–21, 2023, will be $109 for early bird registration through March 24. General registration will be $129 on March 25. Space will be limited to 80.
As an expositor entrusted with the pulpit on a weekly basis, it must be your goal to rightly handle Scripture and to feed the flock of God. The G3 Expository Preaching Workshops help you refine your skill and introduce you to methods and resources for the pulpit ministry.
G3 Expository Preaching Workshop
In this Expository Preaching Workshop, the focus of the entire workshop will be focused on 2 Timothy. General lectures will be given focused on the mechanics of expository preaching, but the group will be working through the text of 2 Timothy together in order to sharpen our skills in biblical exposition.
