In this short video, Paul Washer explains that there’s a lack of holiness in most evangelical churches. You will find his assessment helpful as we honestly consider moving forward with a goal to know and worship a holy God.

Did Archaeologists Just Prove the Existence of Prophet Isaiah? — In an article published just yesterday on The Daily Beast, it’s quite possible that Isaiah’s existence has been validated by a new discovery. Interestingly enough, the article ends by doubting the validity of God’s Word (including the prophetic ministry of Isaiah).

The Moment of Truth, New from Steven Lawson and Reformation Trust — You will want to pick up this new book by Steven Lawson.

On the Day Billy Graham Died — John Piper reflects upon the life and ministry of Billy Graham.

Three lessons from the extraordinary life of Billy Graham — “Dr. Graham’s tireless engine was fueled by a fervent passion to reach souls for Christ. May God grant that such a fire would burn in each of our hearts. A love for evangelism coursed through his life—and we all need a double-dose IV hook up of that! May the example of his life and ministry leave a long standing influence upon our labor for the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Why do Some Pastors Deliberately Avoid Teaching Doctrine? — This is perhaps the most needed article I’ve read in 2018. Jim Elliff writes, “I’ve watched an unintentional doctrinal imprecision on the part of many pastors become intentional. In other words, I have witnessed a new “conventional wisdom” emerge. Simply stated it is the “wisdom” of attempting to circle in more people for our churches by unashamedly minimizing, or perhaps nearly eradicating, the restricting influences of doctrine.”

What Does it Mean to Abide in Christ? — “The exhortation to “abide” has been frequently misunderstood, as though it were a special, mystical, and indefinable experience. But Jesus makes clear that it actually involves a number of concrete realities.”

Why Youth Ministry in 2018 Needs a Reformation — Some good insight into the problems facing youth ministry in our evangelical culture.

$5 Friday: The Trinity, Prayer, & Evangelism — Some good books for you…just $5 on Friday.

Harry Blamires and ‘The Christian Mind’ — “The Christian mind is formed and educated by the Bible. There can be no true Christian thinking without the attitude to Scripture that was the Lord Christ’s.”
