Lords of Chaos: Where Do They Come From? – In light of the Charleston, S.C. tragedy, Tom Ascol has an article on the Founders Ministries blog worth reading.  It wasn’t written in response to this particular tragedy, but it addresses the heart of the issue.  He writes, ” If we can distance ourselves from them and convince ourselves that “they” really are not in any way like “us,” then we can sleep easier at night. It is the sleep, however, of the drunkard, who so dulls his senses that he falls into a stupor. The truth, ultimately, cannot be denied. The very same sin nature which moves some to commit the most atrocious of crimes resides within every man, woman and child.”

Recently, James White was asked to appear on the Dr. Drew show to discuss the Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner transgender issue.  He wasn’t given much time to speak due to being a guest through the window of Skype.  Wednesday, he was asked to have a follow-up discussion on the same issue, and this time James White appeared in the studio.  You can see the response that James White made to the issues in the short video below (if you visit the Facebook page for the Dr. Drew show and scroll down to Wednesday night, you will find their after show video that’s a 7 min. discussion of the panel members in the green room after the show.  Once again, James White provides clarity to a very complicated issue).

So You Got Your First Smartphone… – Tim Challies provides some great advice to the young (and older) person who just got their first smartphone.  He writes, “If you idolize popularity, if it is being admired and having lots of followers that makes you feel good about yourself, then you will be tempted to use your phone to pursue that idol. You may use the camera to take inappropriate photographs of yourself in Instagram, or you may use the Facebook app to say harsh words about other people. That phone that can be used to do so much good and to bring so much encouragement will now be used to cause harm.”
